Fast-rising Nigerian sensational recording artist and song writer, Awotungase Ademola Sodiq aka Demmie Vee has revealed how he was snubbed at an event by fellow colleague, YAGI boss and ‘Cause trouble’ crooner, Lil Kesh.

The singer who was came into limelight after he featured Nigerian veteran musician, 2face is currently on a radio tour of his new single, “Love Me Tender” remix featuring, 9ice. – He stopped by at Star FM Lagos on Monday for an evening drive interview.

During the interview, the OAP asked him what his biggest regret was, without hesitating and just like someone who was expecting such question, Demmie Vee stated that his biggest regret was ever greeting Lil Kesh.

“It was at a Lagos @50 event and I had gone to the event with 9ice, whom by the way is humble to a fault despite his achievement. As I entered the event , the presenter that was interviewing Lil Kesh saw me and hailed me.
The presenter was trying to interview me but I had to pay respect to Lil Kesh whom he was interviewing prior to my arrival.

But things went sour with him and to my utter dismay, he yelled at me and pushed my hands off as I made to shake or embrace him. I never see myself as a competitor with him because our style of music is different.”

“He said ‘guy wetin happen? I sabi you?’” “I explained to him that I just wanted to say hi, but he yelled again ‘for what? why you wan greet me? ”.

“I was shocked and extremely embarrassed. I felt like the ground should just open up and swallow me because people were looking at me and I am generally a free minded person.
I was like what’s bad in showing love to someone?. Yet I saw this dude relating to a couple of people, so not like he was in a bad mood or something. My biggest regret was greeting him in the first place.But am over it. It happens, ” he said.

A group of northern youths, yesterday, claimed that a plan to oust President Muhammed Buhari on account of his ill-health had been launched.The group fingered the South-West as being behind the alleged plan.

The claim came amid the ripples generated by the notice issued to the Igbo people by a coalition of northern youths to leave the North by October 1.

The group of northern youths, under the aegis of Arewa Youth Forum, spoke on a day the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) asked those taking advantage of Buhari’s ill-health to make political case for themselves, to stop their activities forthwith.

NEF spokesperson, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, also announced the emergence of Paul Unongo, Second Republic politician, as the group’s leader following the demise of the convener, Alhaji Maitama Sule.

The Arewa Youth Forum, in a statement obtained by Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, also warned that the North will not accept anything other than the region retaining the presidency in 2019, with or without Buhari.

In the statement released by their National President, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gunjungu, in Abuja, the youths said they were aware of the “political games” some political leaders in the South-West were playing over the health of the President to edge him out and take over.

The Arewa youths accused the South-West politicians of using Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose and a PDP chieftain to champion their cause, insisting that the North would resist any attempt to take over power from them now or in 2019.

They particularly challenged Fayose to produce the eleven pictures which he claimed to show the President on life support or refrain from any commentary on the health of Buhari.

Their words, “These South-West people think that we do not understand the politics they are playing but we want to assure them that we perfectly understand their game and will shock them when the time comes.

“It is annoying and disappointing that while we in the North are making efforts to stabilize the country against the backdrop of the recent call for the expulsion of those from the North, some people want to show us that they understand the game of politics more than us. But they are in for a surprise.

“Let us reveal that after our recent meeting in Kaduna, a delegation was sent to London. We sent that delegation because we wanted to to know the truth of the situation.

“We met with the President and he told us some things. All we can say now is that our President will soon be back and people would witness drastic changes in the country. Many people will be surprised when he comes.

“Also we want it on record that youths from the North will not accept a repeat of what happened during the late Umaru Musa Yar’adua presidency. In 2919, the North must complete its eight years. This region can no longer continue to be taken for a ride.”

The youths lambasted northern governors for keeping quiet and even jostling for the Vice President’s slot, insisting that was time to stand up and defend the region and Buhari.

NEF, in its statement, yesterday, warned individuals, groups or sections of the country it accused of jostling to replace ailing Buhari, warning such persons and groups to stop that now. The group said it will not abandon its mandate to protect the interests of the people of the North. It explained that it was undergoing extensive reforms with the goal of improving its effectiveness and impact in the defence of northern interest.

The group restated its support for Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, saying those involved in power struggle should respect the Constitution.

Briggs made the call, yesterday, in Abuja as one of the panelists at the 2017 Feast of Barracuda hosted by the Association of Seadogs Confraternity.

On the issue of true federalism, the Chairman of the event and former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, called on the authorities to entrench the principles of federalism, adding that it was injustice and sheer corruption for a region to produce oil, while another region controls it without considering where it is coming from.

Mr Eazi has cleared the air on his association with Wizkid’s Starboy Worldwide label.

Recall that Wizkid announced at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards that he signed Eazi, Efya and singing duo R2bees to his Starboy Worldwide Record Label.

According to Mr Eazi, he is not officially signed to Wizkid label as a music act but more like as an associate or ‘business partner’.

Eazi made this known yesterday during an interview with Star Fm Ghana.

The SKIN TIGHT crooner insists that although he is not signed to Starboy, he is in business with the label.

A new investigative report has emerged revealing how the widely publicized Aso Rock cabal is angry with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Close friends and appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari often referred to ‘cabal’ within the presidency are angry indeed with Acting President, Yemi Osibanjo, DailyPost exclusively reported on Sunday.

A ​highly placed source ​disclosed to the publication that the top officials were shocked at “the very many sponsored news publications and articles” in the media accusing them of undermining/attempting to undermine Osinbajo.

It was gathered that while the Acting President is seen as a man loyal to his principal, President Buhari, and has not shown any sign of being ambitious, he has failed to call those around him to order.

The source told a correspondent that on a daily basis, information circulate on papers, news sites and social media platforms, steadily pointing accusing fingers at Buhari’s associates for not co-operating with Osinbajo or whipping up sentiments against him.

It was learnt from intelligence that “the fire works” escalated after Buhari’s departure on May 10 for further medical attention in London.

“While I am not aware if the President’s team has meet to complain this to the AP, they are not happy with the way he is acting as if everything is normal”, the source said.

“In truth, Prof. Osinbajo has been singled out as an excellent man and someone that has proven to be a great choice of second in command. Unfortunately, those around him who act on their own perception and promote discord in the media.

“I can authoritatively tell you that phone calls have been intercepted by Prof. Osinbajo’s aides/associates, telling editors what to put in the paper; telling news sites publishers how they want story to appear; making some disclosures to outsiders.

“When this intelligence was provided, the President Buhari’s men believe there is a calculated move to split the presidency. But this is not from Prof. Those behind this are forces outside the presidency dictating to the AP’s men”.

When asked what is likely to be done if the situation persists, the source said he could say a little about that.

“What I know is that the division in the presidency is clear and you will recall the recent development where Prof. Osinbajo said something and some officials were said to have disagreed.”

“In terms of performance, Prof. Osinbajo is highly regarded and even though not all that he does may go well with some people, many officials score him high.

“But this issue of his people trying to make him look like a victim because President Buhari away in the UK is not being taken lightly. You are in the media, how many news have you seen against the AP?

“So why would some people be doing such against those they believe are the ‘cabal’. Those behind this in the presidency and their collaborators outside must watch it because their cover has been blown. If they didn’t know, let them know now.”

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu has said that the incumbent governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, must be disgraced out of office for allegedly conducting himself in ways that are unacceptable to the people.

According to him, there was a need to rescue Ekiti State from the clutches of Ayo Fayose, whom he said ‘spit on the vulnerable’ and disrespected the elderly.

Ojudu, however, said it was too early for him to disclose whether he would run for the office of Ekiti governor in 2018.

He said: “Certainly, Fayose is not speaking for the people.

“First of all, an average Ekiti person is raised to respect elders. You can be critical of your dad, you can disagree with him, but you cannot abuse him. We are taught not to do that.

“We are taught also not to spit on the vulnerable. When a man is sick, you don’t spit on him, you don’t begin to abuse him; you don’t wish him dead.

“An average Ekiti person does not buy into what the governor is doing or how he is carrying himself on this matter.

“There is a need to rescue Ekiti State from the clutches of Ayo Fayose.

“But for me, anybody who goes out to say he is contesting now is jumping the gun. There is a law guiding campaigns and other electoral activities.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission has not come out to say, ‘This is the day of election, you can go ahead and contest.’ The day INEC says so, then I will decide whether I want to contest or not.”

Jesse Jagz also used the opportunity to speak about his upcoming album Odysseus and when it would be officially out for public consumption.

“I’m currently working on an album and I’m just putting final touches to it. The album will be released under the imprint of Jagz Nation. The album is titled Odyseus, and it’s going to be all about good music. It’s going to be released to the public in the last week of July.”

He also dismissed having any alliance with Chocolate City or hopes of working together any time soon, “I’m done with Chocolate City and we do not have any deal together,” said Jesse Jagz.

The self acclaimed Emperor Jagz, revealed that he did not feature MI who is his brother on his Odysseus album.

“I didn’t work with MI on this album, though I may work with him in future. People have always been speculating that we are not on good terms. Even as far back as when we were born. We are on very good terms but this is business and we are on two different record labels.”

Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has told clubs hoping to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, that they have only a few days to open talks with them.

Aubameyang, who finished last season as the Bundesliga top scorer, is reportedly being pursued by Chelsea and AC Milan.

The 28-year-old is expected to cost around €80million.

Watzke confirms there have been no offers for the striker and there is no much time left for negotiations.

“We have not had any offers,” he told Welt am Sonntag.

“We will wait a few more days but not long anymore.

“We have told Aubameyang: ‘if you want to move and have a club ready to meet our conditions, come to us and we can will talk about it’. But we also explained that this is only possible within a certain window of time. We must find a replacement, which is difficult, if not impossible.

“Personally, I would prefer he stay with us, but there are a few clubs on this planet where he can obviously earn more.”

Nigerian indigenous rapper Phyno finally addresses his fallout with Gucci enthusiast Ray Hushpuppi.

Phyno and Hushpuppi were at each others neck some weeks ago when the latter accused Phyno of patronizing fake luxury items.

The “If To Say” crooner in a chat with Sunday Scoop set the record straight while also giving his opinion about ostentatious display of wealth.

“It is very childish to brag about what I have. I care more about touching lives in positive ways. It is not really about how much you have in your bank account but how many people’s lives you have made better. The good thing is that I have a track record and people know what I do. So it doesn’t really make sense for me to be exchanging words with someone who just came from nowhere and has no credibility whatsoever.”

Phyno also revealed that just like other Nigerian musicians out there, his parents were not in support of his ambition to become an artiste.

“I am happy for how far I have come. My father never wanted me to become an artiste because he felt it wasn’t a good profession. But I decided to stick to my guns and I have proved that one can also have a good life with music. Now, people call on me to mentor their children and that couldn’t have happened years ago. The United States government has sanctioned a crackdown on visitors with visa overstays.

Top on the list are Nigeria, Brazil, Venezuela, China and Colombia.

They are regarded as countries with the most total overstays that do not participate in the visa waiver programme.

The Trump Administration says it has a problem with such immigrants and is now determined to step up enforcement to try to cut down on the violations.

Consequently, the government is introducing a face scan for all US citizens travelling abroad.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said this is aimed mainly at better tracking visa overstays and also at tightening security.

The Nation quoted the agency as saying this is the only way to successfully expand a programme that tracks non immigrant foreigners.

A report in May showed that more than 54 million visitors checked in last year – and nearly 630,000 of them didn’t go back home.

Controversial Nigerian prophet and cleric, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, has revealed that the life of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is in danger. He also revealed that the Acting President was struggling with a cabal in the Presidency that wants to see him dethroned.

The Prophet further said that the result of the Osun by-election should not make the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, feel it is finally back. He stressed that the Wednesday last week’s Supreme Court judgment that that installed Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the party’s national chairman means the PDP was on its way to gradual recovery.

In his words….

“Many things will still be exposed about the plots against him. “There are so many things we don’t see now; the vice president is struggling against the cabal. As it is now, the villa is vacant. “We have just started. With Makarfi back in the saddle, PDP will be on its way to gradual recovery if they take the right steps.

“As it is PDP needs proper cleansing. Makarfi can still bring the party back but if the party brings the wrong person for the presidential election in 2019, the party may not win. “The APC will now have crisis with Makarfi returning except they are able to put their house in order and re-strategise if the party is to retain power.

“At end of the day, it may neither be APC nor PDP that will get the centre if they fail to present sellable candidates. I don’t want to talk about candidates now; at the appropriate time I will reveal that. “What I am saying is that Makarfi can still stabilize PDP. What happens in Osun does not mean that PDP is back.

“They should reorganize the party properly and do the right in the party. At the same time APC is cracking. “If APC wishes to retain the Presidency, they should also ensure they put their house in order.”

No fewer than 9 person have been reported dead following an explosion at Linc Oil and Gas tank farm in Calabar, Cross River state, on Sunday morning.

The state commissioner of police, Hafiz Inuwa, who confirmed the incident to NAN, said several persons sustained injuries and are bring treated at an undisclosed hospital.

He added that the manager of the depot is yet to brief the police on what led to the explosion.

He said;

“Up until now, nobody has come out to tell us that this is what caused the fire outbreak,”

“We have gone round, we have done what we can do but investigation will later reveal what actually led to the explosion.

“For now, nine people are confirmed dead and many others who sustained different burns are currently receiving treatment in one of the hospitals around town.”

The fire reportedly affected the high tension cable connected to the transformer, burning two vehicles.

A staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the fire incident occurred when old product in the tank was being discharged.

“As we speak right now, the vessel that brought in our new product is just by the port here. Some of our staff were discharging the old product from the tank with a view to bring in the new one when the fire outbreak occurred,” he was quoted to have said.
