A 15-Year-Old Boy, Adamu Isa, son of a retired police officer, has been stabbed to death by his friend, Abubakar Isa,15, in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident occurred on March 27, 2024, barely two days after a 16-year-old boy stabbed a 25-year-old man to death in another town in the state.

It was gathered that there was a heated argument between a group of friends in the NEPA area of Ningi, leading to a quarrel between the two teenagers.

In the process, the suspect drew out his knife and stabbed the deceased in the neck, close to the throat, leading to his immediate death even before getting to the hospital.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, expressed concern over the spate of violent killings among teenagers and youths in the state.

“On the 27th of March 2024, at about 1701 hrs, the Ningi Police Division received a distress call from a retired DSP Kasuwa Isa who resides behind the INEC office in Ningi,” the PPRO said.

“He reported that his son, 15-year-old Adamu Isa, was stabbed with a knife on his neck by one Abubakar Isah, who is also 15 years old and lives behind the NEPA office in Ningi.

“On receiving the complaint, the DPO of Ningi Division led a team of detectives to the scene of the incident and evacuated the victim to the General Hospital in Ningi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.”

“The Command is regretting that this is the second case within a few days when similar things happened in the state, a development that it says called for an urgent collective effort by all stakeholders,” he added.

“The Command is not happy with the development, as young people are finding themselves in a very uncompromising situation of a little altercation that is leading to their death.”

The Command condoled with the family of the victim, praying Allah to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Commissioner of Police urged members of the public to continue to support the police.

CP Auwal Musa Mohammed then promised that the family of the deceased would be served justice as the Police would prosecute the case to a logical conclusion.

On Friday, March 29, officers from the Akinpelu Division of the Nigerian Police Force apprehended a physically challenged man suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, as announced by Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin.

According to the statement released, concerned Nigerians provided information leading to the arrest of the physically challenged individual believed to be a drug dealer.

Upon his apprehension, a search of his bag uncovered suspected Indian hemp and tramadol capsules.

An ongoing investigation is underway to capture his supplier and other individuals in the supply chain.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says his side “should be in fourth position” according to “all the data”.

The Blues are 11th in the Premier League table, 17 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

The FA Cup is their only chance of silverware – although they face holders Manchester City in the semi-finals.

“We know really well what we are doing. That’s why I laugh. I don’t take it personally when the fans say that [criticise],” said Pochettino.

“I’m going to support the owners that invest and that arrived to the club in a very difficult situation,” said Pochettino, who was hired last summer.

“The intention is very good. The owners are trying to develop a different project to before. Fans need to understand that it’s a new project with different ideas.

“What we cannot say is they’re not investing and that they don’t have good intentions. They are suffering.”

The former Tottenham manager continued: “If you look at all the data, in the table we should be in fourth position. But for different reasons, we are not there.

“What the data means is that we are in a good way. In which area do we need to improve? It’s things [that will come] with time. We need to compete better, small details. You can only get this with experience with time playing together.

“It’s easy to find the data when you want to kill someone. But when the data is good and reflects the team is doing well but for different reasons we’re not getting the results we deserve, [we should] trust in the process.”

Chelsea have spent over £1bn on transfer fees since Todd Boehly took over the club just under two years ago after previous owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government.

The Blues have suffered multiple injuries this season although the club would still expect to be in the top half of the table. They are in danger of a second consecutive season without European football.

On Friday, the Nigerian naira strengthened to N1,280 per dollar at the parallel segment of the foreign exchange (FX) market, marking a 5.19 percent appreciation from the N1,350/$ rate reported on March 27.

In Lagos, currency traders, commonly known as bureau de change (BDCs) operators, quoted the buying rate of the US dollar at N1,260 and the selling price at N1,280, indicating a profit margin of N20.

According to Aliyu, a currency trader interviewed by TheCable, the decline in the dollar’s price, along with other major currencies, has impacted their business, as some customers are opting to hold onto their currencies rather than exchange them.

However, at the official section of the FX market, the naira experienced a 0.69 percent depreciation to N1,309.39/$ on March 28, down from N1,300.43/$ on March 27.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced on March 29 that the economy received over $1.5 billion in foreign exchange (FX) inflows this month, signaling the effectiveness of its monetary policy initiatives.

The CBN stated that the naira’s movement is positive, affirming the commitment of Yemi Cardoso’s administration, the CBN governor, to ensuring market stability and appropriate pricing of the naira against other major currencies globally.

A man, Chizoke Obiadada, and his son, Micheal Obiadada, have landed in police net for joining hands to beat their neighbour’s wife, Tope Owoade, to death in the Ogijo Area of Ogun State.

This was disclosedbin a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Omolola Odutola, on Saturday.

According to the police, the incident occurred after the deceased asked Obiadada not to sit on a table which she used in selling cow skin, popularly known as ‘ponmo’.

As a result, Obiadada and his son engaged the woman in a fight, inflicting injuries on her, which eventually led to her death later the same day.

The deceased’s husband, Isiaka Owoade, reported the incident.

According to the statement,

“On the 29th of March, 2024 when he (Isiaka Owoade) returned from a journey, his late wife informed him that on the previous day which was the 28th of March, 2024, at about 2030hrs, one Chizoke Obiadada, ‘m’, 54 years, and his son, one Micheal Obiadada, ‘m’, 17 years, his known neighbours, hacked his wife in fist blows, beating her up mercilessly, by inflicting fatal injuries on his wife which resulted in her bleeding severely from the womb and in her private part.

“When she cautioned the duo not to sit on the work table she uses in selling edible animal skin.

“He stated that his wife was rushed to Main Frame private hospital and Kunle Hospital Atan Agowa, and she was rejected.

“He further stated that his wife gave up the ghost while she was being taken to a government hospital.”

Following Owoade’s report at the Ogijo Divisional headquarters, the police arrested Obiadada and his son and transferred them to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.
